Guidelines

The Historic Commemorations Program is an initiative of the Archives Circle designed to highlight distinctive aspects of the Church’s history, culture, and heritage. Through this program, The United Church of Canada will publicly recognize:

  • Persons of Historic Significance
  • Places or Sites of Historic Significance
  • Events of Historic Significance
  • Distinctive Cultural Traditions (Intangible Culture of Historic Significance)

Individuals and groups are invited to participate in the program by submitting their nominations for historic commemoration to the Archives Circle according to the program eligibility criteria.
